Privacy Policy — SEO Inspector

SEO Inspector does not collect, store, sell, or transmit any personal data. It has no backend server, no analytics, no tracking, and no accounts. All analysis happens locally, inside your browser.
What the extension accesses
- The active tab's content — only when you click the extension icon. It reads the page's HTML (meta tags, headings, links, images, structured data) to build the SEO report shown in the popup. This stays in your browser and is discarded when the popup closes.
- Network requests to other sites — only when you manually use the "Link checker" or "Sitemap validator" features. The extension requests the HTTP status of links on the page, or fetches the site's
sitemap.xmland checks the URLs it lists. These requests are made directly from your browser to those sites; the results are shown to you and are not sent anywhere else.
Data storage
The extension stores only your light/dark theme preference and, briefly, the generated report so it can be opened in a new tab. Both are kept locally on your device (via chrome.storage.local) and never leave it.
Data sharing
No data is shared with the developer or any third party. The extension does not use or transfer user data for purposes unrelated to its single purpose (on-page SEO analysis), and does not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
Permissions
activeTab/scripting— to read the current page and optionally highlight its headings and problem images, only on your action.storage— to remember your theme and briefly hold the report for the new tab.- Host access (
<all_urls>) — optional, requested at runtime only when you start the Link checker or Sitemap validator.
